Bamboo Lumber - S4S

Our bamboo lumber is perfect with straight grain and comes in dark Espresso color, as well as, light Cognac color.  The bamboo lumber will transform any home or commercial project into your signature piece.

dassoXTR Fused Bamboo Lumbers are as its named, S4S = Smooth 4 Side, rounded R3 on long edge and pre-primed with exterior oil for ready use. This category is pre-milled, pre-primed lumber so it reduces processing and installation time.  All these S4S Millwork come with extra length for trimming.  They come in different nominal thicknesses: 5/16”, 3/4", 1-1/4" and 1-1/2". The Millwork Lumber are suitable for privacy fences, railings, balusters, handrails, facades, louver and many more usage that you could imagine.  It could also be use as cutting boards as it is food grade safe.  The lumber can also be mllled into tongue and grooves bamboo flooring.  It is really true that - your imagination is the only limits. There’s no limit to this light textured bamboo lumber, so let your imagination run wild. It’s incredibly durable and can withstand the harsh outdoor elements.

When working with Fused Bamboo Lumber, always assume you are working with natural tropical wood, choose the best side as expose surface.  The material feels like wood, looks like wood and react almost like pieces of wood except more stable and durable.  When working on fused bamboo, cuts, mills, glues and coats them as if you would do on a piece of tropical wood (Ipe, Cumaru, Redwood, Cedar and etc…).  Use the same millwork tools and woodworking techniques you learn in wood technical schools.   A common tungsten carbide saw blade will be able to provide a clean cut on dassoXTR millwork lumbers.  The material itself is Class A Fire-rated, dimensionally stable, will not warp or buckle, zero VOC and no leaching. 

Lumber is multi-purpose in nature.  They are semi-complete piece that is ready to be worked on.  They are commonly used as fascia boards for the deck or use as top hand-railing, cut into baluster, use as post wrapping or common material for sunshade, trellis, louver or pergola.  Others use the lumber for benches, countertops, fences, garden furniture or planter barriers.  The uses are endless.

dassoXTR comes in 2 standard pre-oiled colors, Espresso and Cognac.

Espresso color is the result of taking Classic Unfinished boards, stained with WOCA Walnut penetrating oil.  This leaves the boards rich and dark with a tight band of natural color range desire by most unique audience.

Cognac color on the other hand, is a result of staining Epic Unfinished boards with a custom blend of WOCA penetrating oil.  We know the two color option may not be within your choice of colors.  Hence, we now stock unfinished materials in both Classic and Epic so you could choose to custom design your own colors. We know that life is never one size fits all.  That's why we stock unfinished products of both of our popular Fused Bamboo - Classic and Epic.

Classic Unfinished panels in itself is a darker material, hence it would be much harder to stain them to a lighter color.  This however could be achieved by using opac or semi-opac coatings.

Epic Unfinished panels on the other hands are neutral in color, so you would have much success in staining the planks to your choice of custom color.
