Residential and Light Commercial Decking Project
Here is a simple How-to-Guide to help you to decide what dassoXTR product to use in building your deck.
For purpose of clarity, the “Length” on this website is considered to be the measurement along the wall of the building and “Depth” is how far the deck is extended out away from the wall. This is important when deciding how many linear feet of G1 Starter/End Planks (xxx-DK20-G1-PP) are needed for the project. And for purpose of perfect and simplifying installation, always ensure your deck length is at minimum 1” (25mm) less of the multiply of 6 feet. This way, you will be able to cut away the groove on the starting plank so that your deck edge is flush and not exposing the grooves.
At this point, decide whether to install the planks in random or opt for a staggered look. Random look would have your boards start at around 6ft, 4ft and 2ft next to each row. Remember that every plank needs to be supported by at least 2 joists. Staggered look would have your planks around 6ft and 3ft.
