The Right Design for Every Environment
The design of our nominal 1" thick planks is intended for foot traffic alone, regardless of whether the decking is considered commercial or residential. The nominal 2" thick planks, on the other hand, are intended for a more robust heavy-duty commercial function where maintenance vehicles could travel. A major boardwalk as we know it could be as wide as 30ft with a storefront on one side and a walkway on the other. We know this innovative board can handle the job.
Wood for Boardwalk Decking
dassoXTR Boardwalk planks have been used and time-tested globally. Unlike some fascia boards or advanced PVC decking that may look artificial, our material offers the aesthetic of oak and walnut. These highly color-blended boards feature natural highlights and lowlights that vary from end-to-end, making each deck unique. The tones shift naturally end-to-end and board-to-board, mimicking hardwoods like Ipe, Teak or even white oak.
Performance Beyond Standard Materials
Our decking (4) is dimensionally stable and won't swell or buckle. While brands like TimberTech Advanced PVC (1) or their Landmark Collection (1) offer a limited lifetime (1) and a 50-year fade (1) warranty, dassoXTR provides the structural integrity of a board (2) made from Fused Bamboo. Our decking (5) can even be recovered and reattached after a hurricane.
With this in mind, we created our nominal 2" decking to withstand the weight of maintenance vehicles. For vehicle-intended decking piers, span 24” o.c.; for a general walking traffic decking (8) dock, span max 36”.
