About Avery
Avery Chua has over 30 years of manufacturing and product development in the wood and bamboo-based industry. He has worked across industry mostly in the pioneering stage of production involving MDF, plywood, adhesives and modern coatings. He wears many hats throughout his journey ranging from technologist, quality control, production, R&D, product development and market expansion. His knowledge comes handy in integrating usage of wood, bamboo, adhesives and coatings.
Avery writes and talks about bamboo building materials, constructions and architecture. His focus is on mitigating climate change, carbon footprint, and using healthy building materials in construction to help architects aware of smarter options available in the marketplace.
Avery Chua is currently the CEO of dasso USA, the marketing arm of dasso Grpup. The dasso Group is the pioneer of bamboo industry and is the most innovative producer of bamboo products. The company transforms bamboo products from the traditional handicraft into a fully industrialized segment. They also develop to revolutionize the use of bamboo as an interior building material to the extreme of the outdoor building products. The dasso Group consisted of 10 bamboo-based manufacturing plant and a sophisticate R&D Technical Center.
He is also an ambassador for World Bamboo Organization, an advocate of bamboo engineered building materials.
Education
Avery is a trained forester by academic, and an industrialize as profession. He holds a bachelor’s degree of Forest Management from the University of Agriculture Malaysia. He spoke 5 languages and dialects, a common norm for native born Malaysian.
